Country Pub Selection

The Hazel Pear is a little gem of a place to eat, we visited during lockdown and swore to visit in normal times. And, we were not disappointed. The ambiance and food were second to non and very good value for money.

The White Lion is a place that we have been going to for some years now and the food and drink quality, always draws us back. Be sure to book to guarantee a table to avoid disappointment.

The Plough Inn (Whitegate) – We went here many years ago – now that it is under new management, we have been for a drink and shall be returning to eat in their restaurant… or shall we sit in the bar!

The Letters Inn – This a very friendly village pub with a good selection of hand pulled cask ales. Kim Chinese is “the” place that we go for dine in or take away Chinese meals as well as specialty dishes from Thailand and Malaysia.

The Fox & Barrel – I used to think that the Fox was expensive, the fact is that the service and food quality makes it one of Cheshire’s finest country pubs and restaurants that has recommended in the Good Food Guide for nine consecutive years.

The Boot is charming traditional English pub offers great food, well-kept cask ales. Its nice to sit both inside and out. We have note eaten here for a long time and are looking forward to returning to eat in their restaurant. – Be certain to book in advance to eat at the Boot.

The Bunbury Arms – During lockdown, we had a return visit to the Arms, this is a lovely little pub just south of Cheshire Oaks. As usual the food and refreshments were top notch and good value for money.

The Morris Dancer – we just turned up and the could fit us in, just… we had a table for ten even though there was just the 2 of us. Splendid meal with great service.

The Plough at Christleton is another country pub that we have visited recently, we supported them once during the lockdown and once again, we were not disappointed – note to self remember to book to guarantee a table.

The Vale Royal is where we tend to have breakfast… to get an evening meal here requires a booking to ensure there is a table.
